The Electronic Version of A Course
in Miracles contains all the text in the three volumes of the Course
along with The Song of Prayer and Psychotherapy: Purpose, Process
and Practice. The text is fully indexed as one infobase
to allow you to search across the infobase to
find the information you need.
You can personalize the infobase by adding highlighters and notes; copy
selected text onto the clipboard, and from there into your word processor;
print selections; and insert named bookmarks to mark important pages. A
comprehensive online help guides you through the many capabilities and
describes the many functions.
CD-ROM for Windows (Compatible with
Windows 98, 2000, XP. It is currently not compatible with Windows
Vista.) One way to use the infobase is to answer
the question, "Where in the Course does it say...?" You probably
have many phrases from the Course in your mind, but do not remember where
they occur. By using the powerful search capabilities, you can search
across all the books, or limit your search to specific books or chapters,
and find references within seconds.

 Each series
consists of 32 two-hour classes conducted by Kenneth Wapnick
on the chapters in the text. The series begins with a general introduction
to the series and to the text itself -- its form (the way it is
written) and its content (what it says). This introductory class
shows how A Course in Miracles, unlike most linearly structured
texts, is symphonically presented, with its
themes and principles woven into the teachings throughout, much the same as
leitmotivs are woven into the fabric of a musical composition. The Course
is thus seen as the perfect integration of form and content, a framework
within which the prominent principles and themes in each chapter are
presented in succeeding classes.
The overall purpose of these
classes is to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of A
Course in Miracles, in terms of its magnitude both as a thought system
and as a work of art. Such appreciation, it is hoped, will facilitate
students' study of the Course, enabling them to learn and practice its
teachings in a gently consistent manner as they strive to integrate them
into their daily lives.

series conducted by Kenneth Wapnick on the
entire workbook-lessons, introductions, reviews, summaries, and the
Epilogue. During the classes, Kenneth proceeded through the workbook line
by line, or when appropriate, reading and commenting only on the most
important passages and themes of the lessons.
The purpose of these classes
was to help students of A Course in Miracles in understanding the
meaning of the lessons and their place in the overall curriculum of the
Course, and, most of all, to help them recognize the importance of applying
the daily lessons to their everyday lives. Without such application, Jesus'
words in the Course simply become a sterile system of intellectual
teachings, rather than the living experience they are meant to be.

 Reflecting
the structure of symphonic compositions, these classes are organized around
the two major themes appearing in the manual for teachers, along with their
variations and subsidiary themes. The line-by-line commentary presented in
each class shows the masterful way in which Jesus weaves together his basic
message, in this form of themes and variations.
The first major theme in the
manual is that of separate versus shared interests, which evolves from the
larger theme permeating the entire Course, of the oneness of God's Son and
His perfect unity with His Cre¬ator and Source.
This first theme unifies all of the seemingly disparate questions that
comprise the manual for teachers, and is the basis of the Course's unique
definition of a teacher of God. One important variation is the relationship
between mind and body. The second and equally important theme is that of
asking the Holy Spirit for help, which is central to the process of
understanding and integrating the principles of A Course in Miracles into
one's daily life, and without which one cannot transcend the self-centered percep¬tion of separate interests, nor truly become a
teacher of God.
This series of classes took
place at the Center in Temecula, CA, beginning in January and concluding in
April 2003.
